Walker Community UMC
3104 16th Ave. S., Minneapolis, MN 55407
This was the final Minneapolis performance of Charlie Bethel's hour-long epic Beowulf, before he moved to Philadelphia. Charlie's charismatic style emphasizes the wit, vigor and meaty language of the story. It is both a faithful adaptation and completely accessible for those who slept through Medieval Lit. Charlie has also done one-man adaptations of the Sanskrit epic Gilgamesh, Charles Dickens' Seven Poor Travellers, and this year's Fringe hit Tom Thumb. This Beowulf, which has been seen around the country, is his own translation and adaptation of the classic Old English poem about a warrior king and some famous monsters.
Then we went to the Black Forest for beverages after the show.
